Cloak was part of the evacuation team, along with Lightning (previously known as Living Lightning of the West Coast Avengers), the Human Torch, Doctor Strange, and Monica Rambeau as Spectrum. He was among the heroes recruited by Captain America as part of the first wave response to Knull’s arrival on Earth. In King in Black #1, Cloak appeared on 1 page.
The duo had also helped out in Contagion and Amazing Mary Jane. He was last seen recruited with Dagger to help Nova in the finale of Annihilation: Scourge. While never actually a member of the New Warriors, Cloak has been a longtime ally through his partnership with former New Warrior Dagger. Cloak had a brief cameo in the first issue of the 5-issue mini-series, which was reprinted in the collected editions King in Black, King in Black Omnibus, and Venomnibus By Cates & Stegman. The culmination of several years of Venom storylines by writer Donny Cates, the event pitted Knull, the creator of symbiotes, against Marvel’s heroes. In late 2020, Marvel Comics released its next event, King in Black.
